We are happy that you are interested in joining our exciting new
service and become an official GRindie -- Greek independent
artist/label.
First let's start with a basic overview of what we offer:
A place to post your music. We give you an easy to use
form for submitting your music.
The ability to sell your music online. Besides selling
your music on our website, we provide you with a simple code to
put on your site for selling your songs.
Revenue Splitting. mpGreek will pay you $0.45 per
song purchased/downloaded.
Feedback on Your Songs. With ratings for each
individual song in different categories you will know how your
listeners really feel about your music.
Multiple Search Categories. Visitors can search by Song
Title, Album Title, Artists and Genre.
To become a member of mpGreek, you must agree to the terms
outlined in our contract. Here is a basic outline of the terms. If
you want a full copy of this contract click here.
Distribution contract outline of terms:
Below is an outline of the key points in our contract (in
legalese, unfortunately).
Non-exclusive license: you're giving us a license to sell your
music, but you can sign agreements with others. This means you
can sell your own CDs at concerts, as well as sign with another
label.
Contract is limited to music you submit: our contract extends
only to the music you submit to us. There is no future
obligation to send us your music.
$0.45 revenue payout on music: our main revenue sources are
selling your music to consumers. We’ll pay you $0.45 for each
downloaded song.
You own your music: if you've been previously signed, or are
currently signed, to another record label, you may not be able
to sign with mpGreek. Many recording contracts have exclusivity
provisions in them, even if the record label goes under. You
should consult a lawyer to see how your current recording
contract limits you. Note that after signing with mpGreek, you
will still 100% own the copyright to your music: you are simply
granting us a non-exclusive license to it.
Transparent bookkeeping: as a mpGreek musician/label, you can
view every sale of your music in detail. We provide reports in
HTML, Acrobat PDF, Text and as a spreadsheet download.
PR materials: you will supply us with album art, group
photographs (high quality, suitable for posters and press kits),
and a biography. You give us the right to use your likeness for
promotional and merchandising purposes.
Thank you for your interest. Please click here to get a

What does mpGreek do for you, the Greek musician?
We are the most complete music destination for the
Greek Market. Our users, record label affiliates and partners
are interested in Greek music.
We sell your music online. How much money does this
really mean? We don't know yet. One thing we do know is that if
users like your music and purchase it we will pay you the $0.45.
A typical record label will pay you 25 cents to a dollar in
royalties on a CD sale after they recoup their expenses (if that
ever occurs).
We help you get heard. Internet Radio, Kazaa, Napster
etc have proven that people want to listen to music and share it
with their friends. We provide all the technology to enable
widespread Internet distribution in the Greek market, and we do
it legally, without violating anybody's copyright and making
sure you get paid.
We keep the quality high. One big reason good music has
trouble getting heard is that there's too much junk out there as
well as there is no real destination for the Greek independent
market. We filter it out, by recruiting artists/labels like you
directly as well as listening to submissions.
Your contract with us is totally non-exclusive and
limited only to the music you send us: you can (and should) keep
promoting your music yourself. You can print and sell your own
CDs, compete with our web site; even sign with another record
label. There is no long-term commitment to send us more music:
if you want to part ways, don't send us any more music. We'll
retain the right to keep finding money for the music you have
sent us (and we'll keep sending you your commissions) and we
won't have limited your rights to do anything you like with the
music you have sent us.
How to Submit your music to mpGreek
You have to get a copy of our posted contract, agree to the
terms and mail it to us signed.
After accepting your application (we will let you know by
email), you can submit your music via Postal Mail.
Send a CD with all of the songs you want us to sell online
with all the info associated (title, album etc.). Quality of
tracks have to be at least 128kbps. With your CD also include
all necessary artwork (covers, pictures etc.) and fillout a copy
of our Music Submission Form included in our contract.
Always remember: Submissions are only accepted by
musicians/labels or their legal representatives.
