  • What computer should I use to download my music?
You should download your music to the one computer where you keep your digital music. Once you play a song, it can be played, burned or transferred to a portable player from that computer only, based on the usage rights for that song.
  • What happens when I download a song?
Ôhe first time you play the song, Windows Media Player will retrieve a license file, with information that allows Media Player to determine the usage rights associated with the song. Without the license file, you will not be able to play the song. This is why you need to be connected to the Internet the first time you play the song.
  • What music format do music downloads come in?
Music Downloads are 128-bit WMA files. The WMA format allows record companies to protect their music by using Digital Rights Management (DRM) encryption. This means that music downloads are legal, safe, and easy to use.
  • How many times can I download a song?
If for some reason your download is interrupted or a song does not download completely, you may download a song up to 60 days after the date of purchase. Please note that you can only download the license required to play a song once, which happens automatically the first time you play the song.
  • Why can't I download an entire album at once?
You must download an album by individual songs. This ensures that each song successfully downloads to your computer. If an error occurs, you will only have to re-download one song instead of the whole album again.
  • How many days do I have to download a song after I purchase it?
You must download a song within 60 days of purchase. After 60 days, the song file will no longer be available for you to download.
  • What happens if my computer's connection fails during a download?
You must download the entire song again. Just follow the instructions for downloading.
  • How long does it take to download a song (4-6 ÌÂ)?
Broadband (T1, DSL, ISDN, Cable Modem): under 1 minute (Recommended)
    56 Kbps modem: 15-20 minutes
Actual download time varies, depending on the length of the song, your system configuration, site traffic and network traffic.
  • How much hard drive disk space do I need?
Each song you download will occupy 4 to 6 MB of disk space (this is a small amount). Your disk space requirements depend on the number of songs you want to add to your music library.
  • Can É play music from mpGreek® on my Macintosh® computer or iPOD®?
No. Music Downloads from mpGreek are not compatible with any Macintosh computer. The music that you download requires Digital Rights Management 9 (DRM 9) software, which is not compatible as of today with the Macintosh operating system and/or iPOD.
  • Can I transfer the music I download to a portable player?
Yes, you can as long as the player is able to play WMA files (note: iPods as of today do not play WMA files).
  • I bought a new computer. Can I transfer my music files?
If you want to play music you downloaded from mpGreek® on another computer, you will need to make copies of 1) the song files, and 2) the license files and transfer these to the new computer.

To back up license files, in Windows Media Player go to the Tools menu and click on License Management. You may back up your songs to 2 computers in addition to the one you used to download the music originally.
